We start with Mass at 10am at St Anne’s Church.
After there will be special activities in the classrooms followed by a BBQ and shared food in the Hall.
St. Anne was Jesus’s Grandmother so on this day we also celebrate the Grandparents in our community.
All parishioners are warmly invited to attend
Fourth Parish Hui at St Anne’s
On Sunday 8th August we will hold our fourth parish hui in the St Anne’s church foyer after the 9am Mass. We are happy to discuss whatever topics people at the Hui suggest but also have a number of suggestions ready to go. One idea is to discuss the positive spiritual practices and resources that parishioners discovered during the COVID Lockdown. Another is the topic of Synodality (what is it?) that we keep hearing mentioned. We would particularly like to invite parishioners from Brooklyn and Island Bay. Why not come to Mass at St Anne’s at 9am and then stay on for the Hui afterwards? We try and finish within one hour.
PROVIDED WE ARE BACK TO LEVEL 1
We will hold our fifth parish hui in the St Anne’s church foyer after the 9am Mass.
We have changed our regular Hui schedule to the fourth Sunday of each month in response to requests from parishioners from Brooklyn and the Samoan community in Newtown who wish to attend. We would like to encourage more parishioners from Brooklyn and Island Bay to join us. We usually meet for one hour and discuss whatever those assembled propose.
Our sixth Parish Hui will be held in the St Anne’s church foyer immediately after the 9am Mass.
We hope some of our Brooklyn and Island Bay parishioners will be able to join us.
Please feel free to join us for the Hui at 10am whether you attend the 9am Mass or not.
We plan to talk about the COVID vaccination effort in our community, the Synod consultation and anything else that those who come along wish to discuss.
For more information, please talk to Rowan (022 600 4514) or Sara (021 153 6254).
Mask up and ‘Fess up!
Come and experience a celebration of the Third Rite of the Sacrament of Reconciliation on Sunday at 3pm at St Anne’s. Our confession will be general (that is, we do not need to say anything individually to a priest) and our absolution will be general (that is, Fr Doug will pray the beautiful Prayer of Absolution over all of us at the same time).
Let’s all make an effort for Advent!
