{"id":208,"date":"2014-11-14T18:02:15","date_gmt":"2014-11-14T05:02:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wellingtonsouthcatholic.org\/?p=208"},"modified":"2015-05-03T16:21:17","modified_gmt":"2015-05-03T04:21:17","slug":"november-2014","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wellingtonsouthcatholic.org\/?p=208","title":{"rendered":"November 2014"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wellingtonsouthcatholic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/area-meeting-30nov.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-151\" src=\"https:\/\/wellingtonsouthcatholic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/area-meeting-30nov.jpg\" alt=\"area meeting 30nov\" width=\"800\" height=\"877\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wellingtonsouthcatholic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/area-meeting-30nov.jpg 800w, https:\/\/wellingtonsouthcatholic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/area-meeting-30nov-273x300.jpg 273w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a>Parishioners from the four parishes in the Pastoral Area came together to discuss a\u00a0new vision for the Wellington South Pastoral Area.<\/p>\n<p>Tim Gordon facilitated the workshop and initially\u00a0asked people to think about this journey to a new parish by considering where we are at the moment. \u00a0He suggested that there was a need to take stock of what we need, as we travel these unknown waters and for us to focus on the essentials.<br \/>\nWe do not need to discard our histories but we do need a map to help us chart our way to a new beginning.<\/p>\n<p>The consolidated suggestions from the meetings held earlier in each of the parishes were presented and participants \u00a0were invited to share their ideas of a vision of our new parish.<\/p>\n<p>We were asked to focus on &#8216;why&#8217; when considering a vision statement to help form the base from which the new parish will grow and develop.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Having agreed the &#8216;why&#8217; and ensured we are all headed in the same direction, how we achieve that goal and what we do to make it happen will follow .<\/p>\n<p>Small groups put together statements that will be used by the formation team to formulate a starting point for what will become a Vision Statement for or new parish.<\/p>\n<p>The session ended with the lighting of the paschal candles from each church and a prayer from the Pastoral Team for the area.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Parishioners from the four parishes in the Pastoral Area came together to discuss a\u00a0new vision for the Wellington South Pastoral Area.
