The \u201cnot from God\u201d feelings can be from self (from ignorance, obstinacy,\u00a0indigestion), from other persons (whose position on this\u00a0particular issue may be \u201cnot from God\u201d), or from other sources.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To discern or decide well, a person must be<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>ready to move in any direction that God wants, therefore radically free;<\/li>\n<li>open to sharing all that God has given him or her, therefore radically<br \/>\ngenerous;<\/li>\n<li>willing to suffer if God\u2019s will requires it, therefore radically patient;<\/li>\n<li>questing for union with God in prayer, therefore radically spiritual.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>From William J.
