In 2006 Archbishop John Dew challenged us with documents setting a direction for the Church of Wellington. Since then ongoing discussions, reviews, consultations and prayerful considerations have takenplace around the Archdiocese.
Between 2011 and mid 2013 the Wellington Archdiocese undertook a process of reimagining our future.
In October 2013 “A future full of hope – Reimagining the Archdiocese of Wellington” was released.
This set out the Future Parishes and Pastoral Areas within the Archdiocese and a timeline for us to work together in building our new parish.
An overview of our journey from October 2014 to July 2015
In August 2015, the four parishes in the Wellington South Pastoral Area undertook
a nine week discernment process tied to the new Parish Vision:
“We are a community of joyful disciples growing together and sharing Christ’s message.”
